On the last day (14.12.2007) the climate conference reported by the Federal Environment Ministry (BMU) in the morning round of the German delegation, the official negotiations were suspended at 3.30 clock in the night and would be continued today by 10 clock. It was still confident that it still come to a substantial degree. Minister Gabriel has on behalf of the European Union, the United States made very clear that it will come without a Bali mandate to no EU involvement in the manner suggested by the U.S. meeting of major economic countries (Major Economies Meeting / MEM) in late January 2008 in Hawaii: "Without Bali no MEM"
The harmony between the EU Member States at the climate conference was very good. Die USA sträuben sich nach wie vor gegen konkrete Emissionsreduktionsziele im Bali-Mandat. Sie hätten stattdessen eine gemeinsame "Skala" für entwickelte und Entwicklungsländer vorgeschlagen, was naturgemäß von den Entwicklungsländern abgelehnt wurde.
