Small Beautiful Agony

View - What do I expect from Copenhagen

Dr. Horst Heuter Horst Heuter

After several world climate conferences in which I have since COP 1 in 1995 participated in person in Berlin, I think that the current COP 15 in Copenhagen, the best starting for a scientifically sound action against the rapidly advancing anthropogenic climate change provides. Never before has a global consensus on sustainable development and the realization by a change in the face of global economic crisis as clear as the urgent need for a Dietmar Hexel world full protection of the environment.

It can give no plan B because we have not a planetary B.
that already in Copenhagen itself a binding global climate agreement is adopted, is not expected, but more than mere indicative agreements.

And finally: never before have the trade unions as present at a COP in Copenhagen. If this is not a good sign ...
